Story Plan — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how NextGen Financial LLC ("we," "us") handles information in connection with Financial Story Plan™ ("Story Plan"). By using Story Plan you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information you provide: name, email, password (stored only as a secure hash), and subscription details.
Plan data you enter, which may include your own and your clients' financial information — accounts, balances, income, property, and similar details you choose to input to build plans and scenarios.
Payment information, handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We receive limited details such as card brand, last four digits, and expiration; we do not store full card numbers.
Usage and technical data, such as log records and basic device/browser information, used to operate and secure the Service.

2. How we use information

We use information solely to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Service: to authenticate you, run the financial calculations and generate the presentations you request, process your subscription, send service and account emails, respond to your support requests, and meet legal obligations.

3. We do not sell or market your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information or your clients' information to anyone.
We do not use your information, or the client information you enter, for advertising, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
We do not market to your clients and do not use the client data you enter to contact them.
We may send you service and account messages (for example, verification, billing notices, and support replies) and, only if you have not opted out, occasional product announcements — each with an unsubscribe option for non-essential email.

4. When we share information

We share information only:

with service providers (subprocessors) who host and power the Service under confidentiality obligations and only to provide it on our behalf — currently including our cloud/database host, payment processor, email provider, and AI providers (see Section 5);
to comply with law or a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or us;
in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy;
with your direction or consent.

5. AI features

Some features send relevant text (for example, the content of a plan chapter or a support message) to AI providers to generate output such as narration or a drafted reply. We use reputable providers and do not sell this data; we select providers whose terms do not use API inputs to train their models by default, but your use of these features is also subject to those providers' terms. Do not enter information into AI features that you are not permitted to process this way.

6. Your clients' data — your role

Where you enter your clients' personal information, you determine what to collect and why; with respect to that information, you generally act as the data controller and we act as your processor, handling it on your instructions to provide the Service. You are responsible for having the rights and consents to input it. A data processing addendum (DPA) is available on request.

7. Security

We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls, and restricted, server-side database access; production data is backed up. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit access to those who need it to operate the Service.

8. Data retention and deletion

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information by contacting us at support@nextgen-financial.ai; we will respond as required by applicable law. Some records (such as billing records) may be retained where the law requires.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing (for example, under GDPR or CCPA/CPRA). We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To exercise them, contact us at support@nextgen-financial.ai.

10. Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to sign you in and keep your session secure. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

11. Children

Story Plan is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

12. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. If a change is material, we will provide notice and, where required, ask you to re-acknowledge it. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version.
